Ultrasound and Doppler

Ultrasound is also known as sonography.

This procedure involves exposing the body parts of the body to produce sound waves which in return produces images of inside the body. It is totally safe and non- invasive as it does not use ionizing radiation. These images are captured in real- time which helps in showing the structures and movements of the body’s internal organs.

A Doppler Ultrasound uses reflected sound waves to examine and evaluate blood as it flows through the blood vessel. Major arteries, Arms , Legs and neck can be examined effectively with this procedure that may prevent a stroke. A Doppler Ultrasound is highly – effective in revealing blood clots in leg veins (DVT- deep vein thrombosis) which usually break loose and disturbs the blood flow to the lungs (pulmonary embolism)
